Fees and Financial Support

All of our coursework programs require the payment of fees. We set these at competitive levels. Details of the current fee structures are available from the University Home Page or by contacting us

Australian Residents

Australian resident students paying fees may be eligible for appropriate deductions through the Australian Income Tax Assessment Act.

As part of the new loans scheme called the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP), Australian residents and holders of permanent humanitarian visas undertaking postgraduate study will have the option of applying for FEE-HELP.
FEE-HELP replaced the Postgraduate Education Loan Scheme (PELS) from 1 January 2005. FEE-HELP scheme offers all eligible students an income contingent loan facility to pay their postgraduate fees in courses at Curtin and other public or eligible private higher education institutions. Students will be able to access a loan up to the amount of the full tuition fee charged for the course they are undertaking, to a limit of $50,000.

Debts accrued under FEE-HELP will be indexed to the consumer price index (CPI) but are otherwise interest free. No loan fee applies to a FEE-HELP loan for fee paying postgraduate courses of study.

International students

The fees for international students are set at full fee levels in line with current university policy.

Employer support and scholarships

Many students receive financial support from their employers to attend our courses. This often includes time off work, travel costs, tuition fees, accommodation and other living expenses, and purchase of learning materials.
Some international students join our programs with the assistance of Australian Development Scholarships.  These are available to students from developing countries designated by the Australian Government

In the Mineral Economics program members of the student and graduate body have recently contributed to the establishment of the Adam McKay Scholarship Fund.  We currently use this fund to offset fees for a limited number of students in the program who are able to illustrate financial need.
